Content Studio / Reference
Storage Structure
Review the directories and files used to store Content Studio runtime data.
Application: cyclops-cms
The cyclops-cms directory contains protected Content Studio application files: the administration and public-reader logic, shared PHP, JavaScript, and CSS assets, initialization support, and packaged starter source. A Content Studio release may update or replace these files.
Runtime: cyclops-cms-data
The cyclops-cms-data directory stores site-specific runtime data created or selected after initialization:
Posts and Events
settings and templates
administrator credentials and initialization state
uploaded media
Smart Image assignments
runtime configuration
Sibling Directories
In the published site structure, cyclops-cms and cyclops-cms-data are sibling directories. Keeping application code separate from runtime data allows the application to be updated without treating client content as part of the release.
Runtime Is Authoritative
After initialization, cyclops-cms-data is the authoritative store for the site’s content and settings. Preserve it during routine publishing, updates, moves, and recovery work.
