Content Studio / Getting Started
Creating Your Pages
Create the administration and public-facing pages used by Content Studio.
Plan Your Pages
Create a simple page structure before you configure Content Studio. Separate the administration page from the public pages that display Posts, Events, and managed images.
Example Page Structure
Home — the main public page, with Smart Image placements if the design needs owner-editable images.
Posts — a public page containing a Post List component.
Events — a public page containing an Event List component.
Admin — a clearly named page containing the Admin component.
Administration Page
Choose a predictable URL for the administration page so the site owner knows where to sign in. For example, you might name the page Admin and publish it at /admin/, but that name and path are not mandatory.
Place the Admin component on this page and keep the surrounding layout clear. Access to the administration tools is controlled by Content Studio sign-in, not by the page name.
Public Content Pages
Create a Posts page if the site will publish Posts, and add Post List to that page. Create an Events page if the site will publish Events, and add Event List to that page.
The pages can use any names and positions that suit the site. Arrange the components within the Elements design rather than forcing a separate Content Studio layout.
Smart Image Pages
Add Smart Image directly to the public page and position where the selected image should appear. A separate image-management page is not required.
Build the Structure
1. Add the administration page and give it a clear, predictable URL.
2. Add the public Posts and Events pages the site needs.
3. Place the appropriate Content Studio components on each page.
4. Add Smart Image placements to the existing design where selected images should be updateable.
Before Publishing
Check that each component is on the intended page and that navigation points visitors only to the public pages you want them to use. The next steps cover first publishing and initialization.
