Content Studio / Getting Started
Requirements
Review the hosting, publishing, and browser requirements for Content Studio.
RapidWeaver Elements
Content Studio is built for RapidWeaver Elements 3. Install the current Content Studio component package and confirm that CS Admin, CS Post List, CS Event List, and CS Smart Image appear in the CMS group of the Components library.
Web Hosting
Your published site needs PHP 8.0 or later. The server must execute PHP pages rather than display their source code.
All four components require PHP page output, including CS Smart Image. After adding one, confirm that the page publishes with a .php filename and that the host executes it. A plain local file or Local Folder export does not execute PHP by itself.
Content Studio stores site content and settings in files. Your host must run PHP normally and allow Content Studio to create and update the files it uses.
No MySQL, SQLite, or other external database is required. Content Studio stores Posts, Events, settings, and related data in files managed with the site.
Private File Protection
The host must prevent Content Studio’s data files from being accessed directly over the web. System Health checks the supplied protection rules on Apache and IIS. If your server uses a different platform, ask your hosting provider to confirm equivalent protection before using the site in production.
Browser and HTTPS
Use a current desktop browser with JavaScript and cookies enabled for the administration area.
Use HTTPS for a production administration page so sign-in details and administrative sessions are protected in transit.
Publishing Access
You need permission to publish the Elements project and its PHP support files to the chosen hosting location. You should also be able to inspect file permissions or ask the hosting provider to correct them if System Health reports a writable-folder or protection problem.
